Valli-Hi Angus Ranch is a registered Black Angus cattle and custom hay ranch. They run about 200 cows and farm about 2000 acres of hay. As a ranch depends upon weather and nature, it consists of long hours with on-call type work seven days a week, including night shifts when needed, and working in all weather conditions. (Sundays only include feeding, calving, watering, & haying, etc as needed.) They are a modern and clean ranch, running our cattle on 180+ acres, using 4-wheelers. This is a 3-week job during the middle and end of May working for the United Potato Growers of Idaho. Every year United Potato Growers of Idaho counts the number of potato fields that have been planted. We have temporary positions available for Acreage Counters to be part of this year’s acreage count. United sends six teams comprising a driver and a counter out to mark the crop type of all fields. Fields are marked either ‘Potato’ or ‘Other’. All counting is recorded using a computer program and will require user to be able to sit for long periods of time in moving vehicle while inputting the information. We are looking for a single male that is willing and able to work along side the ranch manager and take direction as well as work alone unsupervised. The summer range is located near Flaming George and the town of Dutch John in North Eastern Utah. The head quarters is located in Randlett Utah near Vernal. April will be spent getting cattle gathered to private then shipped to summer range starting May first. We will be spending the summer in a camp setting moving as the cattle change pastures.
